We are a small family business, created to fill a gap in the raw dog food market.
Our raw food journey started as we were about to welcome Nell to our home. Our current dogs Poppy and Jack are Chihuahua cross Yorkshire terriers, who at the time were fed kibble (terrible I know!). They were both what we called 'graze' eaters and seemed happy enough to eat throughout the day. We knew this would not be the best or most suitable diet for a Labrador, due to their tendencies to be greedy, so our search started.
After extensive research we decided that we would attempt a raw diet. Well what a minefield that is! So much information, a lot of which is conflicting and SO many opinions. Our saving grace was advice from a Raw Food Retailer.
We can happily say it was the best decision we made. Poppy, who we thought was a miserable old lady, now dashes around with the energy of a puppy, Jack, who we thought was naturally skinny, has now filled out and his fur is like silk. As for Nell, well you can see in her picture she is a poster girl for raw diets. Her fur is silky and shiny, her teeth gleaming white and she is a bundle of just the right energy.
Now back to the reason we decided to create Nell's Natural Raw Food. During our time of feeding a raw diet we noticed that there was a lack of retailers, especially within Wakefield. We decided we'd like to build a one stop raw shop, somewhere which would provide everything needed to follow the raw food lifestyle, Food, Treats, Care items, Supplements, Toys and of course pass on any useful advice!
